Real Madrid have completed the signing of teenage star Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, with the Spanish club confirming the deal.
The 19-year-old has signed a seven-year contract, according to the club.
Diomande became one of football’s most sought-after young players after scoring 12 Bundesliga goals and providing eight assists last season before impressing with Ivory Coast at the World Cup.
A source told ESPN that Madrid will pay €125 million ($144 million), plus €10 million in easily achievable bonuses and another €5 million tied to tougher targets. If all bonuses are met, the transfer will become the most expensive in Real Madrid’s history, surpassing the fees paid for Jude Bellingham in 2023 and Eden Hazard in 2019.
ESPN had reported last week that Madrid were close to completing the move, although final talks between both clubs delayed the agreement. Diomande left Leipzig’s preseason camp on Thursday morning for a medical in Spain before the transfer was confirmed.
Despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool, Diomande chose Madrid. He joins Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konaté, Denzel Dumfries and Carlos Espí as the club’s summer signings.

Diomande was playing for DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida, in 2024 before joining Leganés. After impressing with the reserve side, he moved to Leipzig in a €20 million deal in July 2025. He later won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award for 2025-26 as Leipzig finished third, before shining for Ivory Coast at the World Cup.
His agent, Nathan Campbell, told ESPN: “In one of the first conversations we had with Yan, he immediately mentioned that Real Madrid was his dream club to move to one day. At that time, we could have never had predicted that this opportunity would arrive so soon, but there was always only ever going to be one answer once Real Madrid expressed interest.”
