The Imo State Police Command has announced the death of 17-year-old Chiamaka Chukwuokore, who was allegedly thrown from a two-storey building by her aunt’s boyfriend, 26-year-old Ifeanyi Chukwu Joseph.
The incident happened on November 1, 2026, along Mbonu Ejike Street, Ikeneagbu, Owerri, Imo State.
Police said Chiamaka suffered serious injuries after the incident and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Sadly, she died on the evening of November 3 while receiving medical care.
The command confirmed that Joseph is still in police custody as officers continue investigating the incident to establish what happened and ensure justice is served.
Reacting to the tragedy, the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, CP Audu Garba Bosso, psc(+), expressed his condolences to the victim’s family.
He also assured residents that the police were carrying out a thorough investigation into the case.
