BBNaija star Phyna has joined the conversation after fellow ex-housemate Tochi told former contestants to drop the “celebrity” mindset and hustle when money gets tight.
Reacting to Tochi’s post, Phyna said she’d long questioned the idea that BBNaija fame means you just wear the “celebrity” badge and wait for brands to call. “Finally someone said it. I thought they said we are stars and them dey build brand, and that you have to just carry celebrity on your head and wait for one brand deal,” she wrote.
She didn’t stop there, taking aim at the way success is measured by how many brand deals someone lands and the headline figures attached to them. Phyna argued that some of those deals aren’t as lucrative as they look on paper — and after management fees and other costs, ex-housemates can be left with little more than bragging rights.
