Controversial relationship therapist and social media influencer Nkiru Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has apologised to people she may have hurt or mocked through her past comments and actions.
In an emotional social media post following her release on bail, Okoro spoke about the loss of her nine-year-old son, Bryan, while she was in detention. She described her current mental and emotional state as painful, saying she feels confused, numb and surrounded by “darkness”.
The influencer admitted that she had spoken carelessly about other people’s pain without experiencing what they went through. She begged those she offended to forgive her, saying she now understands the pain she once mocked.
She also described her return home as that of the prodigal son in the Bible, adding that she was ready to start afresh after learning her lessons the hard way.
Addressing her late son, whom she fondly called Dum dum, she said she missed him and promised to correct her mistakes to make him proud in heaven. She added that his brother, grandmother, best friend Amara and father also missed him.
Bryan reportedly died from an asthma attack while his mother was still in detention. Blessing CEO described the incident as a shock she might never fully recover from.
Despite being granted bail, the influencer is still facing legal battles over separate fraud allegations.
