A Ghanaian court has sentenced a 29-year-old tricycle rider, Naah Mashood, to 14 years in prison with hard labour for sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl in Tiegber, Wa Municipality.
Mashood was arrested on February 24, 2026, after the child’s mother reported the incident to the authorities.
Investigations revealed that the girl’s parents had hired him to take their daughter to school and bring her back home.
However, on February 23, 2026, he allegedly took the child to a lonely area and assaulted her inside his tricycle, popularly known as a Cambuu.
Following investigations, Mashood was first brought before the Wa District Magistrate Court before the case was moved to the Wa High Court for trial.
At the end of the trial, the court found him guilty of defilement and handed him a 14-year prison sentence with hard labour on October 30.
