Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly turned down a £50 million bid from Liverpool for Gambian winger Yankuba Minteh. The 22-year-old, who moved to Brighton from Newcastle United for £30 million in 2024, has been linked with a switch as Liverpool reshuffle their attack after Mohamed Salah’s departure.
Minteh mainly plays on the right. He has 10 goals and nine assists in 73 appearances for Brighton. He is currently recovering from a leg injury sustained in a friendly against Roma earlier this month.

Liverpool are still hunting attacking options before the window shuts. They’ve already signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna for £34 million — a versatile forward who can play wide or through the middle. But Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola remains their prime target. The France international is reportedly open to joining, yet talks are stuck over price: PSG are said to want about £145 million while Liverpool would prefer nearer £100 million.
That big gap keeps Minteh on the table as an alternative. Brighton’s rejection of the initial £50 million offer means Liverpool would likely have to up their bid if they want the Gambian winger before the deadline.
