The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Osun State governor and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, winner of the state’s governorship election.
Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 444,815 votes.
The returning officer, Prof Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, announced the result on Sunday after the collation of results was completed across all 30 local government areas in the state.
Najeem Salaam, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, came third with 17,180 votes.
