Pastor Korede Komaiya has urged Christians to show their gratitude to God not only through words but also by giving from their material possessions.
Komaiya, while speaking to his congregation, described giving as a biblical requirement and said thanksgiving should not be offered empty-handed.
“It’s important for you to note this reality. Note this reality and note it very well. God is the King of the whole earth,” he said.
According to him, gratitude to God should include a person’s substance, adding, “It is dishonoring to say you are grateful and your substance is not involved.”
“You can’t thank God empty-handed. It’s a biblical ordinance. You cannot thank God without your substance,” he stated.
The pastor also said thanksgiving offerings should reflect a person’s financial position rather than being based only on what the individual chooses to give.
“You can’t just give what you like. You can’t just give anything you want,” he said.
He added, “Everybody note this. If you are grateful, your thanksgiving offering should reflect your status.”
Komaiya further disclosed that he had started giving his thanksgiving offering in millions.
“I started giving my thanksgiving offering in millions since yesterday,” he said.
