Nigerian singer Mayorkun has revealed that he plans to sign a prenuptial agreement with his future partner and conduct DNA tests on his children for his “peace of mind.”
Speaking during an interview, the singer said he would explain his decision to his partner by saying, “I hope you will not take it as maybe I don’t trust. I would just like to have that peace of mind.”
Mayorkun admitted that such a request could upset women, saying, “I don’t think there’s one woman on this earth that will take it nicely.”
He compared DNA testing to signing a prenup, stating, “Bro, if you don’t sign prenup, you go regret am, man.”
He added, “This one na new batch of jezeebels. Now, so whether you’re doing prenup, do DNA.”
The singer said love does not remove the risk, adding, “You think that person that gave that man a bastard child doesn’t love? Bro, that’s true. I can’t just give. It’s too much of a risk, man.”
He acknowledged that raising the issue with a partner could be difficult but said, “Omo, this thing is like probably the hardest part of the thing, but I think you need to do it, man.”
For his peace of mind, he concluded, “If you love me too… for my peace of mind.”
