FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has accused Imo Governor Hope Uzodinma and Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of working against him within the APC.
Wike made the allegation during a media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, while denying claims that his political activities were aimed at undermining APC governors.
His comments come as politicians realign ahead of the 2027 elections. Although Wike remains in the PDP, he is openly backing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
Wike’s strongest criticism was aimed at AbdulRazaq, whom he accused of leading a campaign against him.
“Take for example, Kwara, he has been the one championing this campaign against me everywhere. Yes, I have confronted him too. I don’t talk about what I cannot defend,” Wike said.
He said AbdulRazaq accused him of sponsoring politicians against the governor’s preferred candidates. Wike, however, said the governor should appreciate his role in giving aggrieved APC members a political platform within the PDP instead of joining the wider coalition against Tinubu.
On Uzodinma, Wike said: “Governor Hope, he knows the support I give to him,” recalling that the Imo governor once declined to support him.
Wike insisted that the disagreements would not affect his support for Tinubu’s second-term bid.
He also challenged those accusing him of working against APC governors to identify the support they had given him during his political struggles.
“Any Nigerian who knows me knows that I have never hidden my intention,” Wike said.
