A Port Harcourt-based pastor, Mark Miracle, has faced criticism on Facebook after asking people to donate money for fuel shortly after showing off his new SUV reportedly worth N200 million.
The cleric announced the arrival of the vehicle in a Facebook post, describing it as a special gift. He also congratulated himself and his family on the new purchase.
He then asked the first five people willing to make a fuel donation to use the vehicle as a point of contact for their blessings.
“To the first 5 persons that will send a fuel seed as a point of contact to this car gift, My God that has never failed me will give you a gift you never begged for or lobbied for in Jesus name!” he wrote.
Miracle also posted several pictures showing the SUV’s exterior and interior, as well as photographs of himself and his children.
However, his request did not go down well with some Facebook users, who questioned why he needed fuel donations after acquiring such an expensive vehicle.
Samuel Avong reacted, writing, “The Lord can gift SUV but cannot fuel it abi?”
Ekene James also commented, “You are still looking for fuel money, why are you people so greedy like this.”
Patrick Obika wrote, “Politicians will come use us and dumb native doctors will do same pastors too will come and do the same we are finished,”
Others criticised people who donated, including a woman who reportedly sent ₦1,500. Nelson Joel said she could have used the money to help struggling neighbours.
Despite the backlash, some people congratulated the pastor and prayed for similar blessings.
“Congratulations sir… Abeg make person sow for my life too oh… God bless us all,” Emmanuel Omeili wrote.
