We Have Evidence Tinubu Will Win 2027 Presidential Election – APC Chairman Yilwatda

The All Progressives Congress (APC) says its internal polls show President Bola Tinubu is ahead of his likely rivals and on course to win the 2027 presidential election.

The party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, made this known during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics. He said the APC had carried out surveys across states and gathered figures showing Tinubu in front.

“We have done fact-finding; we are leading. We have done our polls. We have our own polls that give us the real statistics across the states,” he said.

When asked if the results showed Tinubu would win, Yilwatda replied, “Of course!”

He said the APC was not worried about opposition groups, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), linked to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), associated with Peter Obi.

He argued that the opposition’s failure to win elections before 2027 gave the ruling party an advantage. He also described Tinubu as “far better” than Atiku.

Defending the government, Yilwatda said tax reforms had brought more people into the tax system, raised revenue and helped poor Nigerians. He added that state governments could now generate, transmit and distribute electricity.

Although he admitted that rising petrol prices had caused hardship, he insisted the situation would not last.

“What we are passing through in Nigeria, for example, at this moment, is temporary. The increase in the cost of fuel is temporary. Nigerians believe in us,” he said.

Yilwatda denied claims that the APC protects members from prosecution, saying some were facing court cases. He added that the party was reviewing its presidential campaign council list ahead of its inauguration.

He also welcomed support for Tinubu from groups, including the Rainbow Coalition linked to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and dismissed the “Tinubu Must Go” campaign as an opposition effort that did not reflect Nigerians’ views.
