Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has sworn in 68 lawyers as Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) during the 2026/2027 Legal Year ceremony.
The ceremony marked the elevation of the lawyers to one of the highest ranks in Nigeria’s legal profession.
The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) announced the development in a news flash on Monday. It also shared a video and photographs of the event on its official X handle.
The swearing-in took place as part of activities to mark the start of the new legal year.
The SAN rank is awarded to lawyers who have shown outstanding professional skills, contributed to the growth of the legal profession and maintained the highest standards of legal practice.
However, the names of the 68 newly elevated senior advocates were not available as of the time this report was filed.
