Nigeria’s gospel music community has been thrown into mourning following reports of the death of singer Toluwanisings.
Pelumi Olajengbesi, convener of the Coalition of Public Interests Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), announced the news on Wednesday, expressing deep concern over the reported loss.
Olajengbesi said the death of the gospel singer was not God’s plan and expressed sadness over the loss of young people.
“We say no to untimely death. My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings. I am deeply troubled by the deaths of young men and women. This is not God’s plan for us,” he wrote.
However, gospel comedian Woli Agba reacted to Olajengbesi’s post, urging people not to reach a conclusion as prayers for a miracle continued.
”Please hold on. Please don’t conclude. We are trusting God. Please.”
His response came as concerns grew over the reports surrounding the singer’s condition.
The development followed the first rumours of Toluwanisings’ death, which surfaced on social media about two hours before Woli Agba’s reaction.
As of the time of this report, the circumstances surrounding the singer’s reported death have not been made public.
