‘No Single Life Was Saved’ – Gov. Aiyedatiwa Gives Fresh Update On Ondo Air Crash

No survivor has been found after a Nigerian Air Force aircraft crashed in the Igbokoda area of Ilaje Local Government Area, Ondo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has said.

At least 32 people were onboard the aircraft when it went down in the riverine area.

Aiyedatiwa gave the update on Monday, hours after the crash, saying residents, emergency responders and security agencies had joined the search at the scene.

He said the teams had not found anyone alive as of the time he spoke.

“From the information we got, no single life was saved up to this moment. They could not see any living soul that was in that aircraft,” Aiyedatiwa said.

The difficult riverine terrain around Igbokoda has made the search and recovery operation challenging.

The governor’s statement was the latest update as authorities continued to establish what happened and the condition of those who were onboard.

Earlier reports said the Nigerian Air Force aircraft was on a routine mission before it crashed.

Search and rescue teams, security personnel and local residents remained at the site to locate the occupants and recover the aircraft.

Authorities are expected to release more details as recovery efforts continue and investigations into the cause of the crash begin.
