Marcus Rashford has returned to Manchester United for pre-season after taking a short break following England’s World Cup campaign. Before getting back to work, he paid tribute to his time at Barcelona.
The forward shared an emotional message on Instagram after a strong season at Camp Nou, where he scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists in 49 games. He also produced a stunning free-kick in El Clásico that helped Barcelona secure last season’s La Liga title against their biggest rivals.
His message in full reads “I’m very grateful to everyone at the club for making my time here such a positive and memorable experience. I’ve enjoyed every moment and will take many special memories with me. I wish the club and all its supporters the very best of luck and every success in the season ahead. Visca el Barça”.
Rashford had hoped to remain at Barcelona after his loan spell, but the club chose not to trigger the €30 million buy option. Barcelona instead signed Anthony Gordon in a big-money move to fill the left-wing role.
His long-term future remains uncertain, with Manchester United looking to complete a permanent transfer for him this summer. Even so, Rashford has made it clear he will always appreciate his time at Barcelona.
