Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been placed in solitary confinement after an alleged fight with another inmate at a federal prison in New Jersey.
The incident is said to have happened this week at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix, where Combs is serving his prison sentence.
According to sources familiar with the matter, trouble began after an unidentified inmate insulted Combs. The rapper then confronted the inmate.
The two men reportedly shoved each other and traded punches before prison officers stepped in and broke up the fight.
Sources said Combs “held his own” during the clash, which officers stopped before it became more serious.
After the incident, Combs was reportedly moved straight to solitary confinement, also known as “the hole.” It was not clear on Friday morning whether he was still being held there.
The reported fight could lead to disciplinary action and may also affect Combs’ expected release from prison.
He is currently due for release in February 2028, provided he continues to earn credits for good behaviour.
If prison officials decide that Combs started the fight or played a major part in it, he could lose some of those credits and stay in prison beyond his current release date.
Asked about the reported incident, a representative for FCI Fort Dix said the prison could not release internal information about inmates in its custody.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons also refused to comment, citing privacy, safety and security rules covering disciplinary matters involving individual inmates.
Representatives for Combs had not responded to requests for comment at the time of the report.
