Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has challenged President Bola Tinubu to a Quranic citation contest after the President travelled to Saudi Arabia for the lesser Hajj, known as Umrah.
Melaye made the challenge in a post on his X handle on Monday, saying he was ready to compete with Tinubu on Quranic citations as soon as he returned from the holy trip.
He wrote, “Now that Alhaji Bola Tinubu is in Umrah. Immediately he comes back, I challenge him to a Quranic citation competition with me. No one can mock God. SDM.”
The former lawmaker’s challenge followed a post by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who shared details of the President’s religious activities in Saudi Arabia.
Onanuga also disclosed that Tinubu visited the Holy Ka’abah in Makkah during his spiritual trip.
