Afrobeats singer Davido Adeleke has rejected Governor Ademola Adeleke’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, describing the All Progressives Congress as “ruthless and disgusting”.
Davido accused APC supporters of violence against Accord Party members and sympathisers, claiming the clashes led to several deaths in Osun.
The singer, who is Governor Adeleke’s nephew, also vowed, “I can never support APC in my life!!!”
Governor Adeleke of the Accord Party defeated APC’s Bola Oyebamiji in Saturday’s governorship election to secure another four-year term. The election followed a fierce campaign marked by allegations and counter-allegations of violence and killings from both sides.
“Y’all kept it bloody n lost! Pple died! F**k yall!!,” Davido said on Sunday in response to an APC supporter who reaffirmed support for Oyebamiji after his defeat.
He added, “I brought no one! No one defended me! I backed my family on my own!! You guys r ruthless n disgusting! I have done my job! Nigerian politics is evil and I don’t want to be a part of it till God help us!”
Despite this, Governor Adeleke has maintained his support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. He thanked the president for ensuring a free and credible Osun election.
“At this point, I must deeply appreciate Mr President, His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his strong support for a free and fair election.
“Mr President is a son of Osun state, and I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” Adeleke said.
Davido later appeared to respond to his uncle, saying, “No more supporting any presidential candidate. @AAdeleke_01 Make we dey our dey,”
