Abia State Governor Alex Otti has approved payment of the first phase of the medical bills of veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu after she publicly appealed for help to fund three life-saving surgeries.
The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Martins Justice, announced the intervention in a post on X on Tuesday.
“His Excellency @alexottiofr have just stepped in on the health issues of our Nollywood legendary actress Mrs. Ngozi Nwosu to approve the first part of her medical bills,” he wrote.
Justice said the governor’s support only covers part of the actress’s medical expenses. He also urged Nigerians to keep supporting Nwosu as she seeks funds for her treatment.
“While we sincerely appreciate His Excellency, we still appeal to kind-hearted Nigerians to please support her in any way possible you can,” he added.
The governor’s aide also expressed gratitude to Otti on behalf of members of the creative industry.
“On behalf of the creative industry, we all thank you immensely, my leader. Ndewo sir,” he wrote.
