The family dispute involving Bashir El-Rufai and his elder brother, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, appears far from over, with Bashir again issuing a public threat against the lawmaker.
INTELNEWSNG reports that Bashir attacked his brother on X on Saturday. Mohammed Bello represents Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Bashir also accused him of abusing drugs.
The reason for the brothers’ disagreement remains unclear, although it may be linked to Bello’s political choices, especially in Kaduna State.
In his latest post, Bashir wrote, “I will destroy you & climb my bed and sleep peacefully.”
The statement drew concern from politician Uche Rochas, who warned Bashir against threatening his own brother.
“If you destroy your brother, no one will see you as a hero. The more you try to destroy him, the more you destroy yourself and drag your family’s name through the mud.
“If you need someone to talk to, I am here,” he said.
Bashir replied, “Sorry sir. Had to be said.”
Another X user, Dr Ibrahim Yaji, also criticised Bashir.
“I kept telling my friend earlier that the joke is on Bashir. I can never trust anybody who can do this to his own blood.
“Even if my sibling kills my child, I won’t destroy him like this. No, my parents didn’t bring us up this way,” he wrote.
Bashir dismissed the criticism, replying, “That’s you o. And I’m sure you had a good brother.”
