Social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has reacted to an invitation from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) over allegations he made during the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference in Port Harcourt.
VDM was a panelist at the 66th Annual General Conference of the NBA on Tuesday, where he made claims against police officers.
He alleged that officers stationed at checkpoints on major highways pass information about travellers’ identities and movements to kidnappers and bandits.
In a statement released on Thursday, Force Public Relations Officer CSP Ani Iniedu invited VDM to provide evidence to support his claims.
But responding on his official Facebook page, VDM insisted that some police officers are involved in the security crisis in the country.
He also alleged that some NPF personnel are the “unknown gunmen”.
VDM said he would not submit any evidence until he is charged to court.
“On the Nigerian police I SAID WHAT I SAID, you will get your evidence when I am charged to court.
“I repeat THE POLICE ARE THE UNKNOWN gunmen and they aid kidnappings. I’m going to give the police my evidence. I will be charged to court and I will tender the evidence in the court,” he declared.
