The Independent National Electoral Commission has presented Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke with his Certificate of Return after his victory in the August 15 governorship election.
The governor’s Special Assistant on Digital Media, Olalekan Badmus, disclosed this in a post on X on Wednesday.
“Governor Ademola Adeleke receives Certificate of Return from @inecnigeria as the winner of August 15th, 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun,” Badmus posted.
The presentation formally confirms Adeleke’s re-election mandate for a second term.
Adeleke was declared the winner on Sunday after securing 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas in Saturday’s election.
The incumbent governor, who contested under the Accord platform, defeated his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who won in 11 LG areas.
Following his victory, Adeleke assured residents that he would not disappoint them. He also promised to build on his achievements while correcting his mistakes.
