Former Anambra State Governor and National Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was seen shopping at a branch of H-Medix Supermarket on Saturday.
The visit comes a few months after he was captured in a viral video buying groundnuts at Utako Market in Abuja.
Pictures from the supermarket visit were posted on X by Esther Umoh, who served as his photographer during the 2023 presidential campaign.
Sharing the photos, Umoh said Obi visited the store to buy a few personal items before spending time with workers and other shoppers.
“Peter Obi today stopped by a branch of H-Medix Supermarket to pick up a few personal items,” she wrote.
She said the visit showed what she described as Obi’s close connection with everyday Nigerians.
“By experiencing the same markets, prices, and economic conditions as everyone else, he gains a firsthand understanding of the challenges families face daily,” she said.
Umoh also said the former Labour Party presidential candidate took time to chat with staff and customers during the visit.
“He also took out time to interact warmly with members of staff and fellow shoppers. A reminder that leadership is ultimately about staying connected to the people you serve,” she added.

Obi was Governor of Anambra State from 2006 to 2014.
He contested the 2023 presidential election as the Labour Party candidate and is now the National Democratic Congress presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 election.
