Three men from Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State were reportedly killed by bandits after allegedly kidnapping a boy, collecting ransom from his family and later killing him.
The victim, Umar Sa’ad Moba, was reportedly abducted by the men and handed over to bandits. His family later paid millions of naira as ransom for his release.
After receiving the money, the bandits reportedly returned Umar to the three men to take him home. However, the men allegedly stopped in the bush and killed him because they knew him and feared he could identify them.
They reportedly abandoned his body and fled.
When Umar did not return home, his family contacted the bandits. The bandits allegedly said they had already handed him over to the three men.
The bandits later reportedly lured the suspects back by claiming that more ransom money had been received. When they returned, they were allegedly detained and questioned.
According to the report, the men confessed to killing Umar and revealed where they had left his body. The bandits reportedly later killed the three suspects.
The allegations, including the reported confessions and killings, remain subject to confirmation by relevant authorities.
