The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to approve and use the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC)’s modified digital logo in all elections.
Justice J.O. Abdulmalik also restrained INEC from interfering with the party’s use of its digitally designed “two-finger” victory sign as its official logo.
The NDC National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, said the judgment followed a suit filed after INEC allegedly removed the modified logo from its database and restored the old association logo.
Director said the party’s National Executive Committee approved the new logo on March 25, 2026, and sent it to INEC. He said the commission initially uploaded it but later removed it without giving a valid reason.
The court ordered INEC to approve the logo, including its symbol and colours, described as a “two-finger victory sign” with a blue background and “NDC” written in red.
Reacting, Director said, “We thank the judiciary for its timely intervention and for directing INEC to upload and utilise the NDC’s modified digital logo.”
He directed all candidates and members to use only the approved logo on campaign materials.
