Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has shared his experience riding a driverless Uber in Atlanta, United States.
AY posted about the experience on his official Instagram account on Sunday, describing the technology in his usual humorous style.
He wrote, “I entered Uber in Atlanta… na Jaguar, but driver no dey!, Oyibo don use technology make motor drive itself. Meanwhile, for Africa, our jazz na to dey turn people into yam. When our own juju go upgrade? See you guys at #enish_restaurant tonight in Houston.”
In the video, which was posted on his birthday, AY is seen inside the empty vehicle as it drives itself. He used his phone to unlock the car and start the ride.
He said, “When oyinbo dey tell una say dem no be una mate, Una go dey follow him argue follow them, they argue.”
He added, “See, na the car dey drive himself. Na my uber be this. E dey carry me they go. Dem don tell una say dem no be una mate una no wan hear word una go dey do juju. They do different things, they kill people for Africa. I don’t want juju, that will kill people.”
AY also said, “I unlocked the car with my phone. Start the ride with my phone. And here we go. On my birthday. So we’re arriving in four minutes, basically. All by myself. No driver. Arriving in four minutes.”
