A young Nigerian man has confessed to taking N1.4m from his sick mother’s bank account and using the money for betting.
The man, whose name was not revealed, shared the confession in a social media post. He explained how he made several withdrawals from his mother’s account before losing all the money through gambling.
He said the first withdrawal was N100,000 on September 13, which he transferred into his betting account. He then returned to the account that same day and withdrew another N200,000 for betting.
According to him, the withdrawals did not stop there. He kept taking more money in separate transactions until the total reached N1.4m.
He admitted that the entire amount was eventually lost while gambling.
He said, “On September 13, I withdrew N100,000 from my sick mother’s account and put it into my betting account. On the same day, I withdrew N200,000 and put it into my betting account. I withdrew another N300,000 on the same day. I continued withdrawing until it added up to N1.4m, which I used to gamble. But the money was gone.”
