VIDEO: Anthony Joshua Goes Through ‘Torture’ Training Ahead of Fury Fight

Anthony Joshua has added an unusual stretching routine to his training as he prepares for his expected heavyweight clash with Tyson Fury.

The two-time heavyweight world champion posted a video from his gym in Dubai showing him strapped into a Pravilo machine.

The device pulled his arms and legs into a starfish-like position before rotating his body. British media outlets, including the Daily Mail and The Sun, have described the painful-looking workout as “torture” training.

Joshua joked about the session in his Instagram caption, writing, “When the instructor says, relax and breathe.”

The Pravilo is a stretching and conditioning machine linked to Slavic and Russian training traditions.

The 36-year-old is stepping up preparations for his proposed fight with fellow British heavyweight Fury. The bout is expected to take place at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in December, after plans for New York were reportedly changed.

Joshua has fought twice in Cardiff before. He defeated Carlos Takam there in 2017 and Joseph Parker in 2018.

If the Fury fight goes ahead, it will bring two of Britain’s biggest heavyweight names together for the first time.
