Two men have been jailed over the violent 2023 burglary at the Paris home of Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and his pregnant girlfriend, Alessia Elefante.
Donnarumma, then 27, was beaten until he bled, while Elefante was choked with a phone charging cable and later suffered a miscarriage linked to the trauma. The couple were dragged from bed, tied up and threatened with knives by four masked men who entered their ninth-floor Avenue Montaigne apartment through the rooftops.
Ilyas Kherbouch, 21, was sentenced to nine years in prison and fined €80,000. Moktar D. received five years, with two suspended under probation. Khyan M., 22, was acquitted.
The seven-man gang stole cash, jewellery, watches and luxury bags worth almost €1 million. “The money, the watches!” the attackers shouted.
Kherbouch and Khyan denied involvement despite phone evidence. Moktar, the only defendant at the scene, said he was only a lookout.
Prosecutors had sought four to 10 years, calling the crime “highly lucrative” and “extremely violent”, targeting “its own idols”.
Kherbouch apologised to police and the court. His childhood friend, accused as an informant, died by suicide in prison. Donnarumma was playing for PSG at the time and joined Manchester City in 2025. Avenue Montaigne was also said to have seen seven celebrity victims between 2022 and 2025.
