Prophet John Papa Jesus, a Ghanaian cleric, has announced GH₵50 as the new minimum offering members of his church must give, linking the decision to the recent rise in transport fares.
The prophet made the announcement in a video shared on X on Monday, September 28, 2026. He said the church’s offering rate had been increased by 20%.
“I’ve increased the church offering rate to 20%. I will accept only offerings of GH₵50 and above,” he said.
Explaining the reason behind the move, John Papa Jesus said the increase in transport fares influenced his decision to raise the amount expected from members.
“I’m not the same as Mahama, so I will increase my offering by 20%. Because transport fares have been increased by 8%,” the prophet said.
He also made it clear that members would not be allowed to give less than the newly announced GH₵50 minimum offering.
