Pres. Tinubu Lands In Saudi Arabia For Umrah

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for a religious visit, landing at the King Abdulaziz International Airport on Thursday evening.

He was welcomed at the airport by Nigeria’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Yakubu Gambo, and the Saudi head of royal protocol, Ahmad bin Thafir.

Tinubu is expected to perform Umrah, also called the lesser hajj, before returning to Nigeria next week after completing the religious exercise.

The trip is the second time the President has travelled to Makkah for Umrah since taking office on May 29, 2023.

His first visit to the holy city was in November 2023, shortly after he attended the Saudi-African Summit in Riyadh. During that visit, he also prayed for divine guidance in leading Nigeria.

The latest journey adds to Tinubu’s foreign trips since becoming President. He has visited more than 30 countries through over 50 trips, including visits to countries he has travelled to more than once.
