The management of Nigerian dancer and singer Poco Lee has addressed the sexual assault case involving the entertainer in the United Kingdom.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 25, the management confirmed that the case is before a UK court and asked the public to allow the legal process to run its course.
The team warned against treating the allegations as proven, noting that Poco Lee has not been convicted of any offence.
“Allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been heard and determined through the appropriate legal process,” the statement said.
His management also reacted to online reports about alleged drink-spiking, saying such claims are not part of the allegations before the court.
“We ask the public and media to desist from introducing details that are not part of the actual case, as doing so only fuels misinformation and causes unfair prejudice to all parties involved,” the statement added.
Reports of Poco Lee’s arrest in the UK surfaced on August 19 over an alleged sexual assault. British authorities had not publicly established the alleged victim’s identity or the circumstances of the case.
Separately, Texas-based Nigerian rapper Ms Jorji alleged in online videos that Poco Lee tried to sexually assault her and her girlfriend about two years ago at his Dallas home. Her claims have not been independently verified, and no link has been established between them and the UK case.
Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, gained fame after appearing in Zlatan Ibile’s “Zanku (Legwork)” video in 2018. He has worked with Davido, Burna Boy, Olamide, Naira Marley and many other artistes
His management said further updates would come through official channels and urged the public to remain patient and restrained.
