The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has gone on vacation after spending more than 30 days commissioning projects, flagging off new ones and inspecting ongoing projects across the FCT.

His Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, disclosed this in a post on X on Monday.

According to Olayinka, Wike spent the period inspecting and reviewing several projects across the FCT, especially those scheduled for commissioning in December and January next year.

“Holiday time for Nyerisi. He is somewhere in the world, relaxing after spending over 30 days, commissioning projects, flagging off new ones and inspecting ongoing ones, especially those scheduled for commissioning in December and January, next year,” Olayinka wrote.

Wike has in recent weeks been involved in several project commissioning and inspection activities across Abuja as the FCT Administration steps up efforts to complete ongoing infrastructure projects.

Olayinka said the minister had now taken time off to relax following the extended period of official engagements.

Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, was appointed FCT Minister by President Bola Tinubu in August 2023.

Since taking office, he has focused on road construction, rehabilitation of existing infrastructure, expansion of public facilities and development of satellite towns across the FCT.

The vacation comes as the FCT Administration continues work on projects expected to be commissioned in the coming months.
