Our Economy Is Stabilizing, Inflation Is Coming Down — First Lady Remi Tinubu

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged Nigerian women to back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC as preparations begin for the 2027 elections, saying the country’s economy is showing signs of improvement.

She spoke on Monday in Abuja at the One-Day Women Stakeholders’ Mobilization and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Summit organised by the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

At the event, women groups including the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN), Christian and Muslim groups, and market associations endorsed President Tinubu.

Remi Tinubu said the government’s reforms were helping the economy, noting that investors were returning, farmers were receiving more support and university students could now access loans.

“Our economy is stabilizing, inflation is coming down, our foreign reserves are growing. Investors are returning to Nigeria, our farmers are getting more support. Our children in the universities are now able to access student loans,” she said.

She described Tinubu as a leader willing to take difficult decisions and asked women to return to their communities to mobilise support for the APC.

Meanwhile, wives of House of Representatives members promised to secure 20,000 women’s votes from each federal constituency for Tinubu.

Hajiya Fatima Tajudeen Abbas, wife of Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, said they backed the reforms in education, women’s empowerment and family welfare.

“We promise to bring 20,000 women votes from every federal constituency,” she said, calling for unity and door-to-door mobilisation.
