Kizz Daniel has revealed that the death of his mother earlier this year was the reason he stepped away from music for a while, not work on a new album.
The Nigerian Afrobeats singer, whose real name is Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, made this known while replying to a fan on X on Friday.
The fan, @VicroyDominion1, had guessed that Kizz Daniel was busy working on a new album, which was why he had taken a break.
But the singer set the record straight, saying, “I paused for my Mom, not an album… Lost her this year, but I gotta keep moving for the rest of the family… sorry I came late this year.”
Kizz Daniel’s comment came as he explained why he had been away from music this year.
Recall that in 2025, the singer also revealed that his wife lost her mother in 2024.
