Gunmen have abducted a newlywed couple, Rev. Abiodun David and Funmilayo Bamidele, along with four other people on the Eruku-Iyemero Road in Kwara State.
The victims were reportedly travelling back from their engagement ceremony in Eruku on Saturday evening, September 26, 2026, when the attackers stopped their vehicle.
Sources familiar with the incident said the group was originally expected to use the Isanlu Road. However, the driver reportedly chose a back road to drop off the best man and other members of the group in Iyamoye.
The route was changed before the vehicle was intercepted by the gunmen, who then took all six occupants away.
The abduction has caused concern among residents and travellers who use the road. Efforts are reportedly ongoing to find the victims and secure their release.
