Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty of 114 out of 115 charges brought by the Premier League over alleged financial rule breaches.
The Athletic reported on Friday that Premier League clubs were informed of the verdict after Thursday’s meeting, with City found guilty on all but one charge.
However, the punishment has not yet been decided. The club could face different sanctions and is expected to appeal the verdict.
“The Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality”, The Athletic quoted a Manchester City spokesperson.
The spokesperson said the club’s position remained the same as its February 2023 statement and added that City had “diligently respected due process” throughout the case.
The charges relate to alleged breaches between 2009 and 2018. The Premier League investigation began after German newspaper Der Spiegel published leaked financial documents linked to City in 2018.
The case was later sent to an independent commission, which heard the charges.
City have repeatedly denied the allegations and insisted they followed the relevant rules.
Under Sheikh Mansour, City have won eight Premier League titles, four FA Cups, seven League Cups and one Champions League. Six of those major honours came after the period covered by the charges.
