Nigerian singer Johnny Drille has revealed that he met his wife through Mavin Records, saying he might still be single if he had not joined the music company.
The singer shared the story during a recent interview while discussing how he and his wife managed to keep their relationship private for years.
“It’s true now, I met my wife at Mavin,” Johnny Drille said.
He said their relationship started around November or December 2018, but they managed to keep it away from the public for nearly five years.
“If not for Mavin, I probably wouldn’t have a wife right now,” he said, joking that he would “probably still” be single.
Johnny Drille admitted that hiding the relationship took a lot of effort, especially as they wanted to keep it away from public attention.
“It’s funny, I think about it now and I don’t realise how much work we had to put into just keeping it under wraps for so long,” he said.
Although some people close to them knew about the relationship, the public only found out in July 2023. By then, the couple had already married.
“We had gotten married,” he said, adding that they had tied the knot about a year and seven months before publicly confirming their relationship.
Looking back, Johnny Drille said keeping the relationship private was not easy but remained thankful that Mavin Records brought them together.
“It wasn’t easy keeping it under wraps. But I’m grateful that I met my wife at Mavin,” he added.
