He Said He Inherited Real Estate From His Parents – Rufai Oseni Questions Tinubu’s Claim Of Driving A Taxi In U.S.

Arise Television presenter Rufai Oseni has questioned President Bola Tinubu’s account of his past after the president recently revealed that he once worked as a taxi driver in the United States.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Day “Morning Show” on Thursday, Oseni described the revelation as a new detail about Tinubu’s background, recalling that the president had earlier spoken about inheriting valuable real estate from his parents.

“President Tinubu talking about all the promises he has done, at least it’s a new one, we know that he drove taxis in America. That’s a new one because I thought that the last interview, the one he held at BBC during the last election, he said he inherited great real estate from his parents. So I’m happy now that he drove taxi. At least we know that he drove taxis, but he also said he inherited great real estate wealth from his parents. So I mean, we’re getting to know a lot of things about him,” Oseni said.

The presenter also acknowledged government programmes such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), hospital investments and university funding.

However, he questioned whether ordinary Nigerians were benefiting from these initiatives, pointing to ASUU’s ongoing complaints and difficulties accessing healthcare.

Oseni argued that the government should be judged by the actual impact of its policies, rather than announcements, especially given the country’s rising loans.

“We are not seeing a lot of spending as regards the budget. You are collecting the loans. We don’t see the effect of the loans,” he added.
