Nigerian comedian Cute Abiola broke down on Instagram after an outfit he wore for an MTN advert led to a flood of cultism accusations.
In a video posted on August 11, 2026, a visibly upset Cute explained that the outfit was made for the brand campaign and had no other meaning. He said he initially ignored the comments, but decided to speak after the messages started reaching his private DMs.
“This cloth is for MTN advert that I did, and nothing else. “I’m not anything because I have to make this video to debunk it.”
He also made it clear that he is not involved with any group outside his faith.
“I’m not into anything or in any way, or associate myself, I’m just a Muslim. I’m just a man,” he said, repeating his identity several times.
Cute also responded to claims that he was afraid to address the issue.
“Not that I am scared, but I just have to say it. And if you say I’m scared, I’m scared, please,” he added.
