Adeyemi Sent To Kuje Prison After Pleading Not Guilty In Alleged Fake Agency Case

Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who allegedly presented himself as Director-General of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has been remanded in Kuje Prison after appearing before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Adeyemi is facing an eight-count charge filed by the police on behalf of the Federal Government over alleged conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.

The police accused him of working with two others, identified as Femi and Anu, who are still at large, to forge presidential appointment letters, State House documents and other official papers linked to the agency.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice later took over the case. Adeyemi pleaded not guilty before Justice Mohammed Garba Umar.

Following the plea, prosecution counsel Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, said the defendant had placed himself on trial and urged the court to remand him in custody, citing his conduct before his arrest and arraignment.

His lawyer, Genesis Francis, told the court that a bail application had been filed and served on the prosecution.

Justice Umar adjourned the case to October 12, 2026, for trial and hearing of the bail application.

Adeyemi had earlier failed to appear for arraignment, prompting the court to order his arrest. He was arrested less than 24 hours later.

The eight charges accuse him of conspiracy to forge documents, forging a presidential appointment letter, presidential letterhead papers, requests for collaboration, office space and staff account approval, as well as allegedly impersonating the Director-General of the purported council.
