Nollywood actor Uche Odoputa has revealed that his family will hold an empty-casket funeral for his late father because they do not have his remains to bury.
The actor shared the sad news in an emotional post, announcing that the family would gather in a few weeks to honour his father, Mr Kenneth Chukwumezie Odoputa.
According to him, although there are no remains to lay to rest, the family is determined to celebrate his father’s life and remember the love they shared.
“We have no body to lay to rest, but we have his life to remember, his dignity to honour and our love to express,” the actor wrote.
Odoputa also described his late father as “Honestman” and promised that the family would continue to keep his memory alive.
He further encouraged people going through grief to open up to someone they trust and seek support during difficult times.
“Dad, we love you. We remember you. We will always honour you,” he added.
