Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has appealed to Nigerians to give President Bola Tinubu more time, expressing confidence that the country will soon enjoy the benefits of his economic reforms.
The governor made the appeal through the APC National Ex-Officio, Muhammad Jamo Yusuf, who represented him on Wednesday at the inauguration of the party’s campaign council in Tarauni ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said Tinubu had made difficult decisions to revive the economy and improve its stability.
“A lot of people do not know the sincerity of purpose that Tinubu carries. When you look at the economic policies of his government, he has been able to rescue the economy of this country and stabilise the macroeconomy,” he said.
He added that the naira had become more stable, making business activities easier for traders and investors.
“Any businessman can go to the market and transact business because the naira has been stable and strong. Now he is growing the economy and the microeconomy will still flourish, whereby Nigerians will be happy,” he said.
He urged Nigerians to remain patient, assuring them that the tough measures would eventually produce positive results.
“We are in a period whereby tough decisions have been taken so that Nigeria can be rescued. We urge Nigerians to be patient with the president and the policies of the government. At the end of the day, we will all celebrate,” he said.
He also urged APC members to unite behind the party’s candidates, describing them as capable of delivering democratic benefits to Kano residents.
Meanwhile, the APC candidate for Tarauni Federal Constituency, Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji, promised to support youth development, education and economic empowerment if elected.
He listed cash grants, educational assistance, healthcare support and youth empowerment among his interventions in the constituency.
Ja’oji urged campaign council members to work together for the party’s victory in 2027.
Similarly, APC Kano Central senatorial candidate, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, asked supporters to vote for the party’s symbol, noting that every vote would matter.
He praised the Tarauni APC leaders for forming a strong campaign team and called for increased voter mobilisation across communities.
