A man identified as Daha Adamu Maikwano has been killed by suspected bandits in Zamfara State, just weeks before his planned wedding.
Daha was due to marry his fiancée, Saffiya Sirajo Uba, on December 26, 2026. However, armed attackers ambushed him while he was returning home from Kuncin Kalgo market in Tsafe Local Government Area.
The attackers reportedly killed him and took away his motorcycle.
Ahmad Uba, his friend and the brother of his fiancée, confirmed the incident in a Facebook post on Wednesday, November 4.
In his emotional tribute, Ahmad recalled their friendship and shared conversations about life and their future.
“Daha Adamu is a friend of mine, he was even engaged to my sister Saffiya Sirajo Uba, they were to be married soon,” he wrote.
He also shared advice Daha once gave him about the importance of education, honest wealth, patience and hard work.
“Allah sarki, not knowing that he won’t be there for the future he was seeing in his head.
Ahmad prayed for Allah to forgive the deceased and grant him Jannah. He also asked God to give his family and Saffiya the strength to cope with the loss.
He further appealed to the Federal Government, Zamfara State Government and security agencies to improve security, particularly in Tsafe communities.
“We appeal to the Federal Government, Zamfara State Government and all security agencies, please do more to secure our areas, especially Tsafe communities. We deserve to live in peace and harmony.”
