Teen content creator Anti Abiba has shared the painful story of how her family lost her brother after running out of money to pay for his hospital treatment.
In an emotional video seen on Thursday, October 29, she revealed that her brother died just 48 hours after the family brought him home from the hospital.
Anti Abiba explained that her family had struggled to care for him during his prolonged illness but could no longer afford the cost of his medical treatment.
Recounting the incident in tears, she said the lack of money forced them to stop his hospital care.
“I lost my brother 48 hours after we brought him home from the hospital because we ran out of money to continue his treatment,” she said.
The young creator also raised concerns about the high cost of healthcare in Nigeria and the difficulties families face when they cannot afford the treatment their loved ones need.
Questioning the value placed on human life in the country, she expressed worry that access to survival increasingly depends on a person’s financial situation.
“What is the value of human life in this country? Nigeria is becoming a place where your survival depends on how much you have,” she said.
