Former senator Dino Melaye has warned that Nigeria’s economic hardship could become worse if President Bola Tinubu wins a second term in 2027.
Melaye made the prediction in a video posted on his official Facebook page on Friday night. He accused Tinubu’s administration of showing little concern for the suffering of Nigerians, saying its policies had only made citizens poorer.
Speaking about the rising hunger in the country, the former lawmaker said Nigerians had yet to experience the worst of the hardship.
“The word of God is true, when the righteous is in power, the people rejoice but when drug baron is in power, you see wahala.
“The hunger you are seeing now is an introduction to hunger; we have not even gotten to hunger yet. God forbid, if he gets a second term, that is when you will be introduced to the proper hunger. Tinubu is very dangerous to mankind”, the former senator said.
Melaye’s comments come as he continues to oppose Tinubu’s administration and criticise its handling of the country’s economic situation.
The former lawmaker is a strong supporter of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
