Ayra Starr Becomes First African Artiste To Headline NFL Halftime Show

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has made history as the first African artiste to headline a halftime show at the National Football League (NFL) International Games.

The Afrobeats star performed on Sunday during the NFL clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

She kicked off her set with “Heaven Baby” before treating fans to “Santa”, “Rush” and “Dangerous”. She ended the performance with a medley of “Hot Body” and “Ms. Paper”.

Ayra Starr also shared the achievement on her official X handle, describing herself as the “first African artist to headline an NFL International Games halftime show”.

Her performance was part of the NFL’s 2026 International Games, which feature regular-season matches played outside the United States.

Ayra Starr began her music career in 2020 and has since grown into a global Afrobeats star, performing on major international sports, festival and concert stages.

She gained wider recognition after releasing her debut album, “19 & Dangerous”, in 2021.

Some of her hit songs include “Rush”, “Bloody Samaritan” and “Commas”.

Her latest milestone in London further showed the growing global reach of Afrobeats and Nigerian music.
