Amaechi Is A Known Thief Who Looted State’s Treasury To Buy Houses For Young Girls — FCT Minister Wike

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has attacked former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi over his comments about President Bola Tinubu and those supporting his re-election, accusing him of hypocrisy and the misuse of public funds.

Wike reacted after Amaechi reportedly described people planning to vote for Tinubu as thieves.

“Because I have said I am going to vote for Tinubu, and he has said all those who want to vote for him are thieves, so I am a thief? That’s what he has said.

“But who can be a bigger thief than Amaechi? This is someone who stood on the treasury of a state and looted it and wasted it, buying houses for young girls all over the place. Let him come and challenge me if it is not correct.”

The minister also questioned the ADC’s choice of candidates, saying the party could not expect someone he described as a lunatic to make Nigeria better.

He further accused Amaechi of failing to account for $39 million allegedly spent on a project that did not exist. Wike also claimed Amaechi sold a state-owned gas company for $380 million.

Warning the former governor about his comments, Wike said: “If you continue on this line, it will be difficult for you to campaign in Rivers State. We will not take that. We will not.”

He also condemned the description of Tinubu’s supporters as thieves and presidential contenders as madmen, asking: “Who does that in this world?”
