Apostle Arome Osayi has said Nigeria’s purpose goes beyond its economic and political problems, arguing that the country has a spiritual calling to revive the world and spread the gospel to other nations.
In a sermon, Osayi urged Nigerians not to judge the country against nations such as China by focusing only on manufacturing achievements while seeing Nigeria mainly through prayer.
“Our calling as a nation is revival. God wants to generate something from here that He will export to the nations of the world. This is His covenant with this nation,” he said.
Osayi said early Christian leaders in Nigeria prayed and sought God about the nation’s purpose. He claimed they received a revelation that Nigeria would provide missionaries to help spread the gospel around the world.
“We are a key player,we are a stakeholder in end time matters.”
He also linked some of Nigeria’s struggles to what he called spiritual opposition. According to him, Nigerians are often too focused on the naira and political power to see the country’s wider spiritual assignment.
“We are not seeing beyond the Naira, we are not seeing beyond Aso Rock,” he said.
Speaking to ministers, Osayi said their present duties could prepare them for greater roles.
“He is using the ground to mature you so that He can send you to the place where you will manifest the strength of your sceptre.”
He ended by urging his audience to declare, “We will not retreat! We will not surrender!”
